Pomegranate Paradise!

Thursday October 27, 2005

Pomegranates are a wonderful Fall treat. The bright, glistening seeds are like wonderful purple jewels. A classic Middle Eastern staple, pomegranates in the U.S. are grown in California. The season generally runs from September through December, but you can freeze the seeds and juice to extend your enjoyment.
Pomegranates have a sweet, sharp taste that is great for making desserts or flavoring chicken, game birds, or lamb. If you've never tried pomegranates before, here is your opportunity to enjoy this magical fruit with some of these easy recipes:

Pomegranate Glazed Quail Salad with Cider Vinaigrette and Grilled Figs
Persian Chicken with Pomegranates, Pine Nuts, and Grapefruit Yogurt
Molten Chocolate Cake with Pomegranate Granita
Pomegranate Banana Cheesecake with a Chocolate Crust
