Jamie Oliver to Cook for G-20 Summit
Next week leaders of the G-20 will meet in London to discuss the global economy. On the agenda is dinner at Prime Minister Gordon Brown's residence, 10 Downing Street. Organizers chose budget-conscious chef Jamie Oliver to prepare the meal, perhaps in response to last year's outrage over the elegant 8-course feast served during the international financial meltdown. Oliver plans a seasonal menu highlighting British cuisine.
Jamie will be assisted by young chefs from Fifteen, Oliver's apprenticeship program for disadvantaged young people.
