The Next Food Network Star Season 5
A new season of The Next Food Network Star starts June 7th. Hopefully this group of contestants will show more personality than the last. Guy Fieri (season 2) has been the only winner to show any staying power on the Food Network.
Rachael Ray, Giada De Laurentiis, Alton Brown, Guy Fieri, Ina Garten, Emeril Lagasse, Gina and Pat Neely, Masaharu Morimoto, Ted Allen, Tyler Florence, Michael Symon and the season four winner, Aaron McCargo, Jr., will appear throughout the season to help guide the finalists through the challenges.
Check out the chef contestants of The Next Food Network Star Season 5.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT WITH MEGHAN AND RIGHLY COSMAN GIUMELLI!
I don’t think I’d want Michael Proietti preparing any of my meals. Not with that chunk of hair hanging over his face like that. I realize its probably his “special look” but… Ick!
The only one I’d want to win is Michael Proietti he’s the only one that doesn’t seen to be a piece of cardboard!
Off Topic, but please get rid of those arrogant British “Chefs”- Hells Kitchen, etc. Simply garbage!!!
i agree t-jo! michael rocks!! (as far as i’m concerned, who cares what he’s rocking under his hat so long as his food is good.)
What, are you kidding? These 10 this year can’t hold a candle to last years contestants. These are the most boring, no personality group I have seen yet. I don’t care who wins, I won’t be watching.

My wife & I just recently got into Cooking shows because my sweetie has just discovered cooking, & starting Culinary school. I’m a 46 yrs old male & really enjoy watching The Next Food Network Star: Season 5. What I know would turn me off to a show like this. I have two pet peeves when deciding whether i’m watching a cooking show. First, I can’t stand Back stabbing Liars. Teddy has proven himself to be both. Wouldn’t watch whatever show he was hosting, no matter what show. Second Pet Peeve.. A Man referring to himself as “herself” as comments made tonight by Michael. I don’t have problems with gays, as long as they don’t shove it into my face. The first time I hear a man host say, “I ran around the kitchen like a crazy woman”, I’m turning the station. he wears a dress, I’m changing the station. With the gay community shoving their agenda down everyone’s throats lately, I can see him using the show to push they’re agenda further, once he gets a signed contract deal. IMO, there’s only two of the women I’d watch, & I have a few male friends that agree. Debbie, or Melissa. Katie has another agenda, & that’s to educate the world on health food. I’ve lived 46 years eating food that has Taste, & I don’t want to hear about health foods when i watch a show.
I think Michael is ok, but I would never watch him on TV as I think he would get very annoying. I think I like Melissa the best – she seems the most genuine and the woman can cook. Gives hope to all those home cooks. I can’t stand most of the new shows on this station and tend to turn the TV off when I see Guy, The Neeleys, Sunny, Aida, that restaurant chef, etc. come on. These new shows suck and add to it an old one – Paula is now in that category too. It’s too bad, I used to love this station – now it’s hard to find anything good on the tube except PBS and I have a hard time finding the cooking shows on FN that I do like. Whoever is doing the casting needs a wake up call – pick someone who is NORMAL (unlike Guy, restaurant chef), not too sexual (Paula, Neeleys)and can relate to the majority of home cooks out there. I miss Sarah from Sarah’s Secrets.
I want Jeffery to win. Melissa bugs me. She is way to frantic and reminds me in a lot of ways of Semi-homemade with Sandra Lee.
I agreed with Melissa winning the contest. However, Jeffrey is the person I’d most like to see hosting a Food Network Nighttime show along the lines of “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives” or “Will Work for Food”. In fact, Jeffrey sort of reminds me of Adam Gertler a little.
