Simple Syrup

Simple syrup is a basic sugar syrup used in recipes, especially cocktails. It's very easy to make and will keep in the fridge for months. This recipe calls for 2 cups each of water and sugar to make one quart but any amount can be made using equal parts of each.

Prep Time: 1 minutes

Cook Time: 6 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water

Preparation:

Makes 1 quart.

Combine water and sugar in medium pot and bring to a boil. Turn heat to a simmer and cook for an additional 5 minutes or so until the sugar is completely dissolved. Transfer to another container and refrigerate until needed.
