The James Beard Foundation Awards are the nation's top awards honoring professionals in the food and beverage industries. 34 awards were given in this year's Books & Media categories. "The Country Cooking of Ireland" by Colman Andrews won cookbook of the year with its rustic, home-style recipes. Thomas Keller took home yet another James Beard winning the general cooking category with "Ad Hoc at Home," based on his restaurant in Yountville, California.
