The book combines recipes for Indian cuisine with tales of Shoba's childhood in South India, her college days in America, her arranged marriage, and visits from her eccentric family in New York City. A delightful look at food and the customs and rituals that often surround it. Nominated in 2004 for a James Beard Award.
